WHAT IS, IS RIGHT, OR IS IT?:

"The sadism of Marquis de Sade is the specter standing behind any determinist because the basis of de Sade's sadism was his concept of determinism. De Sade's position was that what is, is right; and if a person holds any form of determinism, he must agree that de Sade's conclusion is the only logical one. This is not to say that the determinists always carry their position to de Sade's logical conclusion, but it is the conclusion. In any form of determinism, what is considered right or acceptable is arbitrary."
